Beardyman Camp Bestival 2009 Dance Tent Part 1

by on Nov.17, 2010, under Dance

Yes. . . . Camp Bestival: Rob da Bank’s ‘all ages’ festival in Lulworth in Dorset in England, in the grounds of a beautiful old castle, well, it’s beautiful now; back in the day when it was in active use it was basically a fort for a feudal lord with soldiers posted at the battlements and regular public executions in the grounds. It also probably smelled, people used to wash once a year in medieval Britain and they’d rub themselves in goose fat to keep warm in winter. Imagine licking one of them. Still, Rob da bank had it all lit up with lights and stuff, there were fireworks, and loads of families having fun together, quite moving actually. I was headlining the dance tent at the other end of the site as well as hosting the main one. it was a mental weekend. PJ Harvey had just done a half-volume acoustic set in this tent right before me and i’d had to keep it down on the main stage for her. . . so i thought i owed the people of camp bestival a really loud set in the dance tent to make up for it. This video shows part one of that set. . . oh yes. . . . . . . .PS SUBSCRIBE NOW TO GET BEARDYMAN VIDEO’S AS SOON AS THEY’RE UPLOADED!! THERE’S LOADS MORE COMING! IT WAS A HEAVY SUMMER. . .
