Inspiring and well-crafted” –Variety DANCING DREAMS, directed by Anne Linsel and Rainer Hoffmann, documents an ambitious effort by a group of inexperienced teenage dancers to conquer the complex work of master German choreographer, Pina Bausch. Shortly before her untimely death in 2009, Bausch recruited a group of 40 students with little to no formal dance training to explore new ways of expression and connectivity. With the venerated instructor as their guide, the students develop intense physical skills and dig into new emotional realms which translate from the studio and into their daily lives. In German with English subtitles, DANCING DREAMS captures the transformative process and shares the growth, intimacy and aspirations of these young dancers.
